Celebrating Women’s History Month “Morgan Gautrat”

Morgan Paige Gautrat (née Brian; born February 26, 1993) is an American soccer player who currently plays for the Chicago Red Stars of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL), the highest league of women’s professional soccer in the United States, as well as the US women’s national team. On June 15, 2013, she made her first appearance for the United States national team in a friendly against Korea Republic. She has since appeared in 87 games for the squad, scoring eight goals.

From 2011 to 2014, Gautrat was a member of the University of Virginia Cavaliers. She scored 41 goals and added 43 assists throughout her four years with the Cavaliers, finishing second in career points, second in career assists, and fifth in career goals. Gautrat won the MAC Hermann Trophy in both 2013 and 2014, making her the fourth women’s player to do so in a row.[2] Following her collegiate career, Gautrat was selected first overall in the 2015 NWSL College Draft by the Houston Dash. Gautrat helped the United States win the 2015 and 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cups. She was the team’s youngest member at the 2015 World Cup, at the age of 22.
